Balloon and Curls

ALF made this hot air balloon at school last week.  Her painting technique is pretty good.  I'm trying to figure out the story she is trying to tell.  Did that hot air balloon get into some sort of accident?  How come there is an obvious patch in the upper left?  Did the pilot run into a tree?  Did the balloon suffer from some sort of pigeon attack?
ALF had a particularly curly hair day today!  Yay, hair!

Hot air balloons!

ALF went to Balloon Fest this week and saw lots of hot air balloons!  She likes them a lot; just not the biggest fan of the fire/noise/crowds.

Preschool - Full day

It's Anneliese's first full day (2.25hrs) of preschool and they will be making hot air balloons today. The Hot Air Balloon Festival is this weekend and she was pretty excited about her pants. I asked her what she was going to do in school today and she said "crying, sad face". We'll see how it goes...

First day of PRESCHOOL!!!

Anneliese had her first day of preschool today and it was a short meet and greet with the teacher and teacher's assistant. She made herself right to home at the Lego table, then moved onto puzzles, then coloring. Coloring become more sorting the crayons then actual coloring. There are 10 kids in her class and only 4 of them are girls. They are going to do lots of fun art projects and will use the  playground until November then gym classes inside until March. Some days they will bring their snowsuits for some winter fun too. She was very good and everyone including the preschool director thought she looked beautiful in the outfit she picked out herself. She got a free book from her teacher to take home and she gave the teacher a hug. She is going to do great, my only concern is the flights of concrete stairs they must go up and down to the outdoors or gym class. ALF is still too short to reach the railing and sometimes wants to hop instead of walk down the steps. I'm sure they have a system though. The class is for 2-3 year olds so she might be one of the youngest in the class at 22 months. Next class is Monday for 30 min then Wednesday for 1hr, etc to help ease them in slowly.

September 1st!

It's September.  ALF starts her first day of preschool in a week.  I am pretty excited for her.  I think she is going to kick ass (not literally... I hope).

She has been a potty using machine this week.  It's like a light went on a few days ago and now she is sitting on her red potty all by herself without any prompts.  She does still forget to take her undies down though.  We sat on the potty today and pee'd right through our pants.  But we are getting there.

I found out today that she loves opera.  There was an opera on PBS this afternoon and we had to stop everything to watch it.  Then we spent about an hour watching Pavarotti on YouTube.

Thank goodness she is still squishy.
